Rant against Bell
Bell is the local phone company. They have pitiful service. I personally don’t have anything to do with them because I've mangaged to fullfill my phoning needs with other companies. However, my roommate has a regular phone with Bell and you can only get a regular phone with Bell. Plus, our apartment uses the regular phone line to buzz people into the building.
For whatever reason, Bell must come to our building in order to either connect or disconnect a phone line. Oddly enough, at the end of last month the regular phone suddenly stopped working. All the jacks just stopped providing service. Coincidence? I think not. I think a technician was either turning somebody’s phone service on or off and managed to turn ours off at the same time. How nice. And that’s not the best part. The best part is that they still haven’t sent another technician out to fix it. And they won’t until the end of this week. So for me, that’s 2 whole weeks of not being able to buzz people in and having to go down to the lobby to get them. For my roommate, that’s 2 whole weeks of not having a phone. At least, it will only be 2 weeks if they actually show up and fix the problem.
Why are they taking 2 weeks? Well, the earliest that a technician could come was a week later. So I stayed home all that morning waiting for them to arrive. Did they arrive? No. My roommate called them and they said that she had called them back and re-scheduled them to come a week later. She, of course, had done no such thing.
So will they come out sooner than the end of this week? Nope. And will they actually come this time? Maybe. I’ll keep you posted.
I'd also just like to add that I'm very grateful that we have our internet though the cable company and not the phone company.
